What can we learn from water bodies, both internal and external ones, like you and me, and the Salish Sea?
Intertidal zine (abbreviated as ITZ) is a semi-annual zine that features artists, designers, writers, and climate-conscious voices of the Pacific Northwest. Based on conversations across academia, community, and other timescales, ITZ is a place where these stories can wash ashore temporarily before flowing back into an ever-flowing ocean—the very body of water we come from. For this brief moment in time, ITZ seeks to (re)orient perspectives regarding water, offer respite from fast-paced life, serve as a space for reflection, and act as the nudge (or push) needed to practice everyday climate justice, mutual responsibility, and care in our communities.
Thank you for reinforcing the current of our three-year journey with “False Creek”: Community Connected by Water. We are carried by the momentum of your tide. We invite you to take a deep breath and step into the intertidal zine.
